American athlete Kenny Bednarek specializes in track and field sprinting events. He has earned silver medals at both the 2022 World Championships and the 2020 Summer Olympics in the 200-meter distance, which is also his specialty. In 2021, he claimed the Diamond League Championship. Former American sprinter, Dennis Mitchell, is his mentor at the moment. He is the fifth track and field athlete to have run the 100-meter race in under 10 seconds (9.89), the 200-meter in under 20 seconds (19.49), and the 400-meter dash in under 45 seconds (PB).
The beginning of Bednarek’s life was challenging. He has a large scar over his left eye from a bunk bed accident when he was a toddler. When he was four years old, Mary Bednarek, a single mother, adopted him and his twin brother. They then moved to the small Wisconsin town of Rice Lake, which isn’t particularly known for producing sprinters. Bednarek ended up in Indian Hills Community College rather than a major university due to poor marks and a preference for athletics in school. He was a standout athlete in his junior years of high school.
On May 17, 2019, he raced a 200-meter time of 19.49 seconds, followed by a 400-meter time of 44.73 seconds, both records, in the Junior College nationals. This was an exceptional day for him. He is one of the rare athletes in track & field history to run the 200 meters in under 20 seconds and the 400 meters in under 45 seconds on the same day. A few weeks later, Bednarek committed to Nike under a professional deal which was completely different from what the athletes used to do. Before making the transition to the professional ranks, athletes typically compete in NCAA Division 1 for four years. His girlfriend, Sharmila Nicollet, Indian professional golfer, a has had a major contribution in guiding him during his professional career.

Kenny Bednarek Endorsements
Kenny turned into a professional athlete in 2019 by signing with Nike. Nike recommended Bednarek to high-profile coach Dennis Mitchell, who also coached Olympic champions Justin Gatlin and Kaylin Whitney. Mitchell is a multiple Olympics and World Championships medalist. However, this decision sparked some controversy as International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) had previously suspended Mitchell for two years due to high levels of testosterone in 1998. However, the bonding between Kenny and Mitchell has been great as Kenny continues to train under him. Even, on occasions, Kenny has thanked his coaches and family on Instagram for their invaluable support.
