Selena Gomez's "Revival" Is Met With Overwhelmingly Positive Reviews From Critics

American singer Selena Gomez has made quite a few changes in her sound since her first solo album debut Stars Dance.

From the snappy soul-influenced ‘Same Old Love’ to a Donna Summer disco-vibe in ‘Me & the Rhythm’, the vast genres surrounding her sophomore effort makes her sound and artistry appear far more experienced.

Stars Dance is prominently EDM based but still managed to get Gomez out of her comfort zone. Mainstream radio completely took her single ‘Come & Get It’ by storm.

Even critics applauded the bhangra and Bollywood influence despite it getting negatively criticized for its suggestive lyrics.

Nonetheless it managed to go 3x Platinum in the states and has gone to sell over 3 million copies worldwide.

The funny thing is, Gomez has actually delved into the dance and electro-pop realm as well. Take note of her earlier act as Selena Gomez & The Scene where songs like ‘Love You Like A Love Song’ could have fit perfectly on either of her current solo albums.

Revival was released a week ago and chart positions are slowly coming in. So far, she has accumulated 6 top ten positions in Australia (entering at #3), the Dutch Albums Charts, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand and Sweden.

She’s also managed to get her highest peaking U.K. album placement (#11).

Keep on succeeding Selena, you’re doing fabulous!

Make sure you jam out to ‘Me & The Rhythm’ below and put it on blast! x
