Police have revealed a shocking detail in an early morning home invasion, where three masked men allegedly forced their way into a home in Sydney’s south west and threatened residents.
Officers were called to the home on Ludgate Street shortly after 5am on Wednesday, following reports of a break-in.
They have been told the men – who had their faces covered and one armed with a firearm – threatened a resident before leaving in an Audi Q5.
However, police say they left the home completely “empty-handed”.
About 20 minutes later, officers were called to Abbey Ave in Greenacre, after a car which matched the description of the Audi, was set on fire.
There have been no injuries reported from either incident.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information relevant to these incidents; or who may have dashcam vision and were in the vicinity of either Ludgate Street, Roselands, or Abbey Ave, Greenacre between 5am and 5.30am, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
