The Project star Steve Price had some choice words for Victoria Premier Jacinta Allen on Tuesday’s show after a neo-Nazi protest in the state shocked the world.
Social media footage showing a group of men, dressed in black and wearing balaclavas, holding a banner reading “Australia for the white man” and chanting “hail victory” in Ballarat on Sunday.
There have been calls for neo-Nazi demonstrations to be banned, but they have so far been ignored because the marches were carried out legally.
In October, legislation came into effect banning the intentional displaying of Nazi gestures or symbols in public, such as the swastika symbol and the Nazi salute.
However, the protesters in Ballarat were “careful” to avoid both in so they didn’t breach any laws.
Victorian premier Ms Allen called the display “disgraceful” and said “cowardly acts have no place in Victoria”.
“Ballarat is one of the birthplaces of our state’s rich multiculturalism – people came to the gold fields from every corner of the world in search of a better life,” she said in a statement.
However Ms Allen’s government has so far failed to enact a ban on similar demonstrations.
In response to Ms Allen’s perceived lack of action, Price hit back at her on Tuesday’s episode of Project, labelling the politician “weak” and calling her statement nothing more than “weasel words”.
“I reckon they were poor weasel words from the Victorian premier,” ranted the radio shock jock.
“She should have her Police Minister tell the Police Commission of Victoria that you can’t allow people to walk down the street completely covered in a mask as the Police Commission Representative said. Police should have demanded they de-mask or they would have been arrested.
“We have anti-bikie laws. You can’t associate wearing bikie colours,” continued Price.
“Well, there is worse than that. These people are despicable. The police have to be a police force. They’re weak.”

The presenter then went on to recall the tough action that was taken against anti-vaxxer protests in Victoria amid the Covid-19 outbreak, and questioned why similar no-nonsense action hadn’t taken place over the weekend.
“We had the Victorian police force firing rubber bullets at anti-vaxxer protests and using riot shields. Why do you let these blokes get away with it?”
Following the latest neo-Nazi marches in Victoria, Israel has taken the unprecedented step of warning its citizens against visiting Australia out of fear of violence fuelled by hatred and anti-Jewish sentiment.
