Megan Eugenio rejoins TikTok after her private photos were leaked

Eugenio rejoins TikTok and recently shared that her personal content was stolen from her phone. She claimed that the stolen content was "sold, reproduced, and posted all over the internet without her consent." While she did not reveal whether the culprit behind the hack had been caught, she reminded viewers that sharing such personal content is a crime. The experience, however, has been “very hard,” according to Eugenio.

“I’m a victim,” she said in the video. “It’s not my fault. It doesn’t define my self-worth. And I know, as a woman, that that was not meant for the public eye. That was meant for me.” “It’s been super hard to look at my private images all over the internet,” she said. She further added, “People are not realizing that this is a real person you are messing with. I have friends, I have a family, I have a job.”

Although Eugenio has disabled comments on the video, Carter's TikTok covering Eugenio's response still allows for commentary. However, many of the comments are insensitive and inappropriate, making fun of Eugenio's private images or criticizing her actions. The video currently has 7.8 million views.

What exactly happened?

After the unauthorized sharing of Megan's private content online, she decided to exit social media altogether. She made her Twitter account private and proceeded to delete her TikTok profile. A TikToker who covers internet controversies, Noah Glenn Carter, broke the story on April 28 with a video that has since accumulated almost 9 million views. Apparently, Eugenio's social media accounts were either deleted or made private after she was the victim of a leak. "I honestly feel really bad for her and I would not wish this on anyone,” Carter said in the video.
