Louiza Patikas (born 1976/1977) is a British actress, best known for her portrayal of Helen Titchener in the long-running radio soap opera, The Archers. Although she had, as of 2016, played the character for 16 years since she left drama school, she was generally little-known to the public, until her character’s involvement in a storyline about domestic abuse and coercive control caught the public imagination. Patikas discussed the storyline on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour in March 2016.
In December 2016, Patikas selected and presented her round-up of the year’s radio highlights for BBC Radio 4’s Pick of the Year.
She also works as a journalist and fashion stylist.
She grew up in Reigate, where she attended St Bede’s School.
In 2007, she married actor Jonathan Aris, whom she met while making the 2005 ITV comedy drama Planespotting.
In June 2017, it was announced Patikas would be joining the cast of long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street as medical centre practice manager Moira Pollock. She departed the show in November 2017. In February 2018, however, Patikas reprised her role as Moira full-time
