Ironically, Leonardo DiCaprio has been confirmed to play Leonardo da Vinci in a new upcoming movie.
The Paramount studio won the rights to the imminent novel ‘Leonardo da Vinci’, written by biographer and journalist Walter Isaacson, in a bidding war.
Isaacson is famous for his books on Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs and is now taking on the legend of Leonardo da Vinci.
Although the book won’t be released until October, Paramount have supposedly already paid a seven figure sum for the right to make it into a motion picture.
It is genius that Leonardo DiCaprio will play his namesake and it is believed that his mother felt her unborn child kick while she looked at a painting by da Vinci.
The picture was held in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence in 1974 when Leonardo DiCaprio’s mother felt her child move for the first time and thus, chose his name.
Isaacson’s novels have been made into film adaptations before as his book ‘Steve Jobs’ was the foundation for Danny Boyle’s 2015 biopic, starring Michael Fassbender.
