Leon Frank Sylvers III is an American singer, composer, disc jockey, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist who was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 7, 1953.
He belonged to the family group The Sylvers, and because to his connection to Dick Griffey’s SOLAR Records in the late 1970s and early 1980s, he rose to prominence as one of black music’s most successful producers. He has written and produced tracks that J Dilla, Dr. Dre, and Madlib have sampled.

When Ed Sullivan saw them play in Las Vegas in 1959, he prophesied they would become well-known. They made appearances on variety programs like Make Room for Daddy, You Bet Your Life, and The Spike Jones Show during this time. They went on tour with Ray Charles in the US as well.
