Kaley Cuoco is not about to let people bash her without firing back! The actress was slammed on social media for not standing up when the presentation for Carol Burnett’s Golden Globes award was done.
Now, The Big Bang Theory star took to her platform of choice to address the backlash.
‘There’s one thing I want to address, which again I don’t normally do. I was reading comments about the evening, and I saw people posting that I did not stand up during Carol Burnett’s speech. Are you all crazy? Not only was I standing, I was actually bawling,’ Kaley wrote on her Instagram account.
Furthermore, she made it very clear that Burnett is one of her ‘comedic idols’ as well as ‘one of [her] favorite people’ in general.
Cuoco went on say that ‘You can better believe I was standing and I was completely touched by her speech—a speech I will never forget and I will be able to tell my children I was in the room that day.’
‘And the words that she spoke touched me to my core. So, I do not know what show you were watching to tell me I did not stand for Carol Burnett and how disappointed you were in me.’
She slammed the haters, telling them that she was definitely standing and they just watched ‘the wrong clip,’ before she went on to gush over Burnett.
The woman was the very first one to receive a Golden Globes award named after her.
