House of the Dragon Prequel of Game of Thrones Pauses Production Due to COVID Celebsgra

The House of the Dragon, a prequel to the epic HBO series Game of Thrones, based on the novel of the same name by American novelist George R.R. Martin, which was under full-fledged production, has been halted for two days after a Zone A member was exposed to COVID 19.

The House of the Dragon, a prequel to the epic HBO series Game of Thrones, based on the novel of the same name by American novelist George R.R. Martin, which was under full-fledged production, has been halted for two days after a Zone A member was exposed to COVID 19

“As part of the rigorous testing implemented for all production employees, a Zone A production member on House of the Dragon tested positive for COVID-19. In compliance with industry guidelines, the production member is in isolation, and close contacts will be required to quarantine,” stated a spokesperson for HBO in a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter.

This does not mean the show will be halted for long. On the contrary, the cameras will start rolling again on Wednesday, July 21. This is because, since Monday, July 19, the UK has lifted nearly all of its COVID 19 regulations and restrictions.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson came out and stated, “Wearing a mask is a matter of your personal liberty now.” and said that he “want(s) to see the people of the UK without masks.” This came after successful vaccine drives throughout the country.

Unfortunately, cases are again surging in the United Kingdom amidst the COVID 19 third wave.

The prequel live-action movie, House of the Dragon, tells the story of the  Targaryen Civil War and features Emma D’Arcy, who previously acted in Truth Seekers as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith from Doctor Who as Prince Daemon Targaryen. The movie also has casts like Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon (also known as the Sea Snake), and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.

House of the Dragon tells the story of the Targaryen family in Westeros and is set almost 300 years before the events depicted in the HBO series, which has successfully run its course for 8 seasons. The executive producer of the prequel movie is the saga author George R.R. Martin himself, who first wrote the novel back in 1996.

It has also come to attention that the production company HBO is currently working on two additional animated shows for the globally recognized series. Game of Thrones is a popular fantasy drama that has captured the attention of millions of viewers worldwide since its inception in 2011 and has grown on to gather a cult following.

However, development doesn’t precisely mean production, so there is little evidence to back up the theory that the animated shows will manifest in their final form as a ready-product for the viewers. Maybe HBO will take public response to House of The Dragon as a cue and see if the animated show would be a fit for the franchise. No word has been made yet when they will go into production and be released.

It is likely that the company could ditch the idea of creating an animated series because it was reported that recently they also dumped one of the other live-action Game of Thrones movie concepts named Flea Bottom.

The good news is, we can confirm that the first but probably not the last, Game of Thrones spin-off that is currently under production, has been approved by the company sources and is set to make its debut, most likely in theaters in the first half of 2022.

Out of various spin-off projects the production company has been working on, a Broadway theater adaptation of the show featuring new actors in iconic roles being conceptualized has come as exciting news to the franchise’s fans.

The GoT sequel House of the Dragon premieres in 2022.
