The MTV Movies and TV Awards 2022, held at The Barker Hangar, Santa Monica, California, honoured the world-class talent in the entertainment industry on Sunday. The star-studded ceremony, hosted by Vanessa Hudgens, witnessed some notable wins for the evening, and we are still swooning.
One of the most brilliant and vibrant actresses in Hollywood, Jennifer Lopez, bagged the Generation Award at the MTV Awards 2022 and became emotional and teary-eyed during her acceptance speech. According to MTV, they dedicated the award to “beloved actors whose diverse contributions to both film and television have turned them into household names.”
Jennifer is one of the most gorgeous, celebrated, hardworking, brilliant, multifaceted creative in the industry, and she absolutely deserves this honour.
“I want to thank disappointment and failure for teaching me to be strong,” Jennifer said during her acceptance speech. She said, “You’re only as good as the people who you work with… and if you’re lucky, they make you better.”

Euphoria, the highly acclaimed show, was one of the evening’s biggest winners, taking home four golden popcorn buckets in different categories. For her brilliant portrayal of young drug addict Rue in Euphoria, Zendaya earned the prize for the ‘Best Performance in a Show.’ Both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Loki had a successful evening, as each won two awards for the night.
In the unscripted segment, Selling Sunset took home the award for Best Reality Show, while RuPaul’s Drag Race took home the award for Best Competition Series. The evening wrapped up with the renowned Jack Black, dubbed the Comedic Genius.
Of course, no award show would be complete without its sensational red carpet, and thus, we were glued to our screens to find out what these celebrities would don for the evening and dazzle us. Unlike the previous award shows high on glitz and glamour and flashy couture, the MTV Awards 2022 had a more mellow pop culture ambience, which we approve of.
