R&B bad boy, Chris Brown and heart felt hip-hopper, Drake have more in common than just hit music; the Grammy award winning artists have feuded in the past because of another common factor: seven time Grammy award winning artist, Rihanna. Less than a year after the February 2009 domestic violence incident between Chris Brown and Rihanna, Drake teamed up with the songstress as a featured artist on her hit single “What’s My Name.” This steamy collaboration led to rumors that Drake and Rihanna had sparked a romance, which subsequently led to tension between Drake and Chris Brown.
In 2013 during a radio interview following a physical altercation that arose between Drake and Chris, it seemed that tension between the two love struck artists had not died down. Drake was quoted saying: “His insecurities are in the fact that I make better music than him, that I’m more popping than him and that at one point in life the woman that he loves fell into my lap.” The feud was also fueled by the back in forth nature of the relationships that Rihanna shared with both men; however, by mid 2014 it appeared that she had dropped them both.
With Rihanna out of the way the opportunity for Drake and Chris Brown to collaborate and publicly reconcile has now arrived-or has it? Drake and Chris Brown were slated to perform a new song, supposedly about none-other than Rihanna, at this year’s OVO Fest in Drake’s home country, Canada. However, the performance will not happen because Canada will not allow Chris Brown into the country due to the Rihanna related felony he pled guilty to in 2009.
While Drake and Chris have collaborated in the past on the remix of Chris Brown’s hit single, “Deuces,” their performance at OVO Fest would have been the first time the two shared a live stage together.
